Apple has sent out invites for an event on March 25th. As predicted, it seems to have a film theme. That theme is revealed by a countdown like those from old film reels leading up to the Apple logo and a simple message: “It’s show time.”
Apple’s expected to reveal new streaming and media subscription services. Perhaps something to rival Netflix, complete with their own in-house content. Apple has deals with a number of celebrities and film makers, and could be preparing for a new video based service.
There have been other rumors, from a new subscription service for news to new hardware, like updated Airpods, iPods, and a new iPad mini. But this invite makes it clear: video will take center stage at Apple later this month.
However, one of the tools of video editors is a powerful Mac. You can never have enough power or storage for video editing. What little video editing I do, a few instructional videos and the videos I share on here, often take up hundreds of gigabytes on an external drive I use for my Final Cut Pro projects. Apple could choose this as the time to reveal the new Mac Pro, a machine that professionals have wanted for years. However, buzz around this is low, and it may not release until later in the year.
We won’t know anything for sure until sometime after 1PM on March 25th, so add it to your calendar!
