So you just got that new Fitbit, Apple Watch, PS4, Apple TV, iPhone or maybe even a new Mac. Congrats! You’ll likely get a notification to update it. If you can help it, don’t. Everyone will update their software today. As such, you’re going to see exceedingly long download times. You likely won’t be able to use your new hardware until the update is finished. If you can use your new gift without updating it, definitely try to do so. You can always wait until tonight to update your new electronics.
Some software will require an update for use. In that case, you’ll have to grin and bear it. But think of it this way, you join millions of people all over the world struggling with an update. In that way, you’ve found a community.
And I know what you’re thinking. “Danielle, is this just a scam to get us to refrain from updating now so you can rush in and get your updates?”
