Users will have to set up Face ID with portrait orientation, but afterwards, it’ll work with landscape orientation. The iPad would have never sold with such a limitation, but it’s good to see that landscape Face ID be available on the iPad. It’s not known yet if the iPad will feature a new piece of hardware for this, or if Apple could update the iPhone XS in the future to use landscape Face ID as well.
Apple will reveal the iPad Pro at the end of the month. Earlier this week, Apple sent invites to journalists. On October 30th, Apple will reveal the next iPad Pro and hopefully new Macs as well in Brooklyn. The event will start at 10am, eastern time, and Apple will stream it.
