Phone Loops Loop Strap Review

Reading Time: 2 minutes.

I wanted to get something for my smartphone that would allow me to more securely use it with one hand. However, Pop Sockets are too thick, and interfere with charging. Phone rings can also be problematic, especially since quality ones are made of metal. It seemed there wouldn’t be an easy to use tool to improve my grip on my iPhone. But then I saw an ad in my Instagram feed that actually lead me to buy a product. I know, an ad that actually worked, I’m as surprised as anyone else. Furthering my surprise, I actually like the product I bought!

What it Is

The Loop Phone Strap from Phone Loops is a simple follow-up to their Leash. It’s a ribbon with adhesive on two ends. You use the phone case you already have (it does not come with a case) to create a loop on the back of your phone. The ribbon does not interfere with wireless charging and it’s quite thin. This offers an area for you to slide your fingers through, which can make your phone easier to grip and use with one hand.

How it Works

To install it, you place one end through your case’s camera hole or through the top of the case. The other end goes along the bottom. Then, using the adhesive on the strap, you stick it to your case, adjusting as you see fit. Once you’re comfortable with the space it gives you on the back for your hand, you just pop your phone back in the case. Your phone and the adhesive hold the straps in place.

But Does the Loop Phone Strap Work?

Guy falling behind a car, holding his phone with a loop.

Uh, we know his phone’s ok, but can we check on this guy? I think they hit him with a car.

It does, depending on the case you use. A slim fitting case that doesn’t have a lip that goes over the front of your phone may pop off because this does add about 0.6mm of space between your case and your smartphone. Larger, thicker cases work best, but I’ve found it works with my Incipio Feather case, a lightweight hard plastic case.

With the right case, your phone will be secured to your case and therefore the Phone Loop Strap as well. I found that it took some getting used to, but once I did, using my phone without it felt strange. It’s incredibly easy to hold my iPhone in place now. Plus, it adds a bit of style to my otherwise dull iPhone case.

The Loop Strap comes in a variety of colors and designs, and you can even create your own designs. If you’re worried about dropping your phone while using it with one hand, you should definitely consider getting one. The company ships from Canada, and it can take a while to arrive to the states through the mail, but if you’re willing to wait, grab two designs and get free shipping for the best deal.
