There are very few games I consider “must plays.” I’d call Horizon Zero Dawn a must-play game, Mario Kart 64 makes the list, as does the original Super Mario Bros. The Metroid series is an underappreciated work of art (with the exception of Other M, of course). Then there’s one seemingly different game on that list, and that’s Life is Strange. The narrative storytelling in the first Life is Strange game, along with its Prequel, Life is Strange Before the Storm, make this series one everyone should play. On top of that, the games have a unique atmosphere, amazing graphics, and relatable characters. Truly, these two games are among my favorites of all time.

There’s a sequel to Life is Strange out now. Dontnod released the first episode of Life is Strange Season 2 last week. I’ve been busy this past week, and didn’t have a chance to play it until this weekend. I was thinking of getting it for my MacBook Pro, as the machine is surprisingly impressive for gaming. However, I was disappointed. Life is Strange 2 is not out for macOS. Only Windows PCs, PS4, and Xbox One. I ended up buying it for my PS4, as I haven’t installed Windows 10 on my MacBook Pro yet. I’m a little disappointed, but it’s an amazing game on any system.

However, if I had been a more patient person (fat chance), I could have waited for the macOS version. Sometime early in 2019, Feral Interactive will release an official port of Life is Strange 2 for the Mac.

Truth be told though, it doesn’t matter what operating system you play Life is Strange 2 on. The game will look beautiful, oddly nostalgic, and the story will be incredibly impactful on any platform. I highly recommend downloading it on whatever you can. Only the fist episode is out now, and, after playing it, I can promise you it’ll be as invaluable in your game collection as the first game and its prequel.
