iPhone XS Max Beats Samsung Galaxy Note 9 in “Real World” Speed Test

iPhone vs Note speed test

The iPhone consistently has faster app load times, but what does it store them in memory long enough?

With the exception of the iPhone 8 Plus vs the Samsung Galaxy Note 8 last year, the iPhone has crushed all Android competition in real world tests. Apple’s processors are often faster than their competition, but Android manufacturers, obsessive with specs, have finally loaded their phones with enough memory to match Apple’s efficient software. However, Apple’s iPhone is up 1GB of memory from last year, to 4GB of RAM in the iPhone XS, and has faster silicon to boot. So how’d it do up against Samsung’s fastest device? Check out the video below. You can see Apple’s best beat Samsung’s best, but not by as much as they used to.

I remember, not long ago, these tests weren’t even close. Last year Samsung’s phone beat Apple’s. This year, iPhone won, but only by a few seconds. Apple’s iOS 12 is more efficient than iOS 11, and the iPhone XS has more 33% memory than the iPhone X, but they’re not outpacing their competitors as much as they used to. Will Apple lose their lead permanently? Not this year, but the next year is another opportunity for the competition to catch up.
