White or Black? Gold? That’s old news.
I was sad when Apple decided not to make a (RED) iPhone X. Red is a fabulous, brilliant color (one of my favorites) and the proceeds go to a great cause. I had to settle on a Product(RED) iPhone X case, which, while it’s nice, it’s not the same as a stunningly beautiful red finish. Perhaps that’s why I still stare at my beautiful HTC U11 on occasion, thinking about what could have been. If only Apple wanted to make a pretty iPhone.
If famed analyst Ming-Chi Kuo is right, Apple is finally preparing to make the iPhone pretty. Unfortunately, like the last time Apple graced us with vibrancy, it’ll be limited to Apple’s budget model again.

The iPhone X sequel models will get a white, black, and new gold finish. That’s pretty standard fare. The gold will be a new shade, one we haven’t seen before, but it won’t be much different than any other gold color we’ve already seen. In fact, it might look like the “copper gold” or “blush gold” that the iPhone X was rumored to come in.
The “budget” iPhone will see a greater variety of colors. Kuo claims this iPhone will come in grey, white, blue, red, and orange. That grey may be a “space gray” shade. This will be Apple’s truly colorful lineup, with the vibrant colors Apple saves for their budget iPhones.
A Colorful History
