Felix Gray Starts Offering Prescription Computer Glasses

Reading Time: 2 minutes.

Felix Gray prescription glasses are here.Almost a year ago, I bought a pair of Felix Gray computer glasses, and I’ve been extremely happy with them. I’m wearing them right now as I write this review. I wear them anytime I’m working at a computer screen for more than a few minutes. They’re great. I’ve noticed less eye fatigue, fewer headaches, and I can usually fall asleep more easily at night. Truly, they do everything they claim to do, and even after almost a year of using them, I still love them.

Once while I was visiting my parents, I was writing an article on my iPad while wearing them. My mom asked me about my glasses, knowing I don’t need glasses. She was excited by the premise of computer glasses, but, because of her prescription, she couldn’t get them. Obviously, she was disappointed, and I felt bad for people who require corrective lenses. Millions of people rely on their prescriptions to see clearly, and they couldn’t take advantage of these glasses.

Until now.

Took this while testing portrait mode on my iPhone X. Of course I was wearing my Felix Grays, when am I not?

Felix Gray has released prescription lenses for their computer glasses. The prescription versions cost more than the non-magnifying and reading glasses versions, however it would be tough to find a better price on prescription glasses that also protect your eyes from digital eye strain. Once you pick your frames (now with more variety), you then pick your lenses. The default lenses, with no magnification, which only filter blue light, are $95. It’s a good price for quality frames and lenses. If you want slight magnification or actual reading glasses, the price remains the same. Prescription glasses are $145. However, Felix Gray does accept payment through a healthcare savings plan, and your insurance will cover your prescriptions from Felix Gray as they would anywhere else.

Felix Gray still offers all their previous designs, but have added a few new styles as well. Each style is named after a scientist, engineer, or mathematician, and come in a variety of colors. It shouldn’t be hard to find a frame that fits your face and looks good as well. Measurements and details for each design are provided on Felix Gray’s site.

If you stare at a computer screen all day, have felt dry eyes, headaches, eye strain, or experience trouble falling asleep, you may want to consider computer glasses.
