I was on the phone with my father today, and was surprised when he made a joke about me leaving iOS behind, or, as he called it, “going to the dark side.” You see, not only have I been a massive Apple fangirl myself, I’ve also managed to convert a number of people around me. Now, for the first time, I can say I converted someone away from an Apple device, when I helped my friend switch to an HTC U11. I could be heading down a dark path.
But I hadn’t yet published my troubling—but simply titled—article, “I Love Android,” so how did my dad know?
I went back through my most recent post history, and I noticed a trend. They didn’t have the same peppy pro-Apple tune I’ve had in the past. Just the opposite.
I suppose it’s true what Master Yoda said, “Bugs lead to anger. Anger leads to hate. Hate leads to suffering. Suffering leads to Android.”
I may have been watching a different movie, but can you blame me? The Phantom Menace was awful.
Here’s a short jaunt I took on the “dark side,” and why I didn’t cross completely.

It’s not surprising that my dad thought I went to the dark side. I suppose I’ll just re-read my iPhone X review and see if I can’t start feeling those fangirl feelings again for Apple.
